Islamic,  Umayyad Caliphate. AE Fals (bronze, 1.05g, 21mm),  al-Ramla mint, circa AH 90S = AD 710s
Arabic Title: الخلافة الأموية، فلس برونزي، ضرب الرملة، حوالي عقد ٩٠ هـ
Obv:  First part of Kalima within rayed circle
Rev: Second part of Kalima and mint in the margin without palm tree, star after the mint name in the reverse margin
Ref: Album 185 Rarity/Choice: Rare (very rare variety and exteemly light weight), aEF (attractvie patina)
Note: Struck at al-Ramla during the Umayyad Caliphate, this Fals circulated in a city that had become the new administrative and commercial center of Palestine. It reflects the early Umayyad efforts to standardize coinage while linking daily trade to the authority of the caliphate.
