Rev: Alexius and St. Constantine standing facing, holding labarum each and a globus cruciger between them; legend around
Ref: Sear 2012 Rarity/Choice: Common, VF
Note: Struck at Constantinople under Alexios III Angelos (AD 1195–1203), this cup-shaped trachy shows Christ Emmanuel on the obverse and the emperor with St. Constantine on the reverse. Issued in Byzantium’s final years before the Fourth Crusade, it reflects both imperial authority and the empire’s growing fragility.
