Note: Aurelian was a Roman Emperor who ruled from 270 to 275 AD. His reign is notable for the restoration of the Roman Empire’s eastern provinces and the defeat of the Palmyrene Empire under Queen Zenobia, earning him the title “Restitutor Orbis” or “Restorer of the World.” He also reformed the coinage system and fortified the city of Rome, contributing significantly to the stabilization of the empire during the Crisis of the Third Century.Ā  The obverse features a radiate and cuirassed bust of Aurelian facing right. The radiate crown symbolizes divine favor, associated with the sun god Sol, while the cuirass highlights his role as a military leader and defender of the empire.Ā  The reverse shows a female figure standing to the right, crowning the emperor who is standing to the left holding a spear. This imagery symbolizes the emperor’s divine endorsement and his role as the restorer of peace and order.
