Note: Constantine I, also known as Constantine the Great, was a Roman emperor who reigned from AD 306 to 337. He is best known for being the first Roman emperor to convert to Christianity and for founding the city of Constantinople. This period was marked by his continued support for Christianity, the consolidation of his power, and the stabilization of the Roman Empire. The imagery on the coin reflects the emperor’s emphasis on the strength and loyalty of the Roman military, which played a crucial role in maintaining his rule and securing the empire’s borders. The obverse features a diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantine I facing right. The diadem signifies his imperial authority, while the drapery and cuirass emphasize his role as both a civilian leader and military commander. The reverse depicts two soldiers standing facing each other, holding spears and shields. Between them is one standard. The standard symbolizes the unity and discipline of the Roman legions.
