Note: Constantine II, the son of Constantine the Great, was appointed Caesar in 317 AD and later became Augustus. His rule as Caesar included the provinces in the Western Roman Empire, and he played a key role during the transition from his father’s reign to his own. This period was marked by continued consolidation of power and the spread of Christianity throughout the empire. The obverse features a laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantine II facing left.
