Note:Ā  In the heart of Anatolia, during the Post-Seljuk era, the Saltuquids Dynasty emerged as a beacon of stability in the ever-changing landscape of the region. At the helm of this noble house stood Izz al-Din Saltuq, a ruler renowned for his wisdom and strength. During his reign, the city of Erzurum, formerly known as Theodosiopolis, served as a vibrant center of trade and culture. It was here, amidst the bustling markets and ancient streets, that coins bearing the mark of the Saltuquids were minted. Among these coins was the AE Fals, a tangible representation of the Saltuquids’ authority and influence. Minted in Erzurum, these coins circulated far and wide, facilitating trade and commerce across the region.
