Note: Al-Mu’tamid reign was characterized by both internal conflicts and external pressures from rival dynasties such as the Saffarids and the Samanids. Despite facing challenges, al-Mu’tamid was known for his patronage of arts and culture, particularly poetry, during the period known as the “Golden Age” of Abbasid literature. The Al-Ahwaz Mint, located in present-day Iran, was one of the principal mints of the Abbasid Caliphate. Coins minted there were widely circulated throughout the caliphate’s territories.
