Note: Klazomenai, an ancient Ionian city located on the western coast of Anatolia (modern-day Turkey), The winged boar was a mythical creature with the body of a boar and wings, symbolizing strength, power, and protection, often associated with divine forces. The depiction of the winged boar on the coin reflects Klazomenai’s connection to the supernatural and its desire for protection and prosperity.  Quadripartite incuse square is a design with four compartments separated by lines, is a common feature of ancient Greek coinage. It was created by impressing the design into the coin’s surface, creating a sunken square pattern. The significance of the incuse square is not entirely clear, but it may have served as a security measure against counterfeiting or as a way to ensure uniform weight and value of the coin. These coins, small and lightweight, were used for everyday transactions within the city-state and surrounding regions.
