Rev: Citing his brother al-Maʾmūn as heir apparent, governor al-Fadl, and the chief general Tahir [ibn al-Husayn], al-Fadl. “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. From that ordered by Imam al-Ma’mun, successor to the covenant of the Muslims, ʿAbd Allah son of the Commander of the Believers. Tahir”; in the margin, ‘Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, he sent him with guidance and the religion of truth, so that He may make it overcome all religions, even though the unbelievers may dislike it” all in Arabic

Note: Al-Amin was the sixth Abbasid caliph, during a period marked by internal strife and political instability within the caliphate. The al-Muhammadiya Mint was located in Samarra, Iraq, which served as the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate during the later part of the 9th century. Samarra was a significant center of administration, culture, and Islamic scholarship during this period.
