Note: The overlap in the reigns of Tigranes the Great and Tigranes the Younger is due to the complexity of Armenian history during that period. Tigranes the Great, who reigned from 95 to 55 BC, was the most powerful and influential Armenian king, expanding his empire to its greatest extent. Tigranes the Younger, on the other hand, was a prince and later king of Armenia who ruled from 77 to 66 BC. The overlap occurred because Tigranes the Younger was initially a puppet king installed by the Romans after they defeated his father, Tigranes the Great, in 66 BC. However, Tigranes the Younger’s reign was short-lived, as he was eventually ousted by the Parthians, allowing his father to regain control. Therefore, the overlapping reigns reflect the complex political dynamics and power struggles in Armenia during this period.
