Note: Tigranes V was a king of Armenia who reigned approximately from AD 6 to 12. He was part of the Artaxiad dynasty, which ruled Armenia for several centuries. During his reign, Armenia was a vassal state of the Roman Empire, and Tigranes V maintained a delicate balance between Roman influence and his own authority. His coinage, like this Æ Dichalkon, often displayed traditional Armenian symbols, such as the tiara and the elephant, while also reflecting influences from neighboring powers like the Seleucids. Tigranes V’s reign marked a period of transition and negotiation for Armenia, as it navigated its position between Rome and other regional powers.
