Note: Volusianus was a Roman emperor who ruled jointly with his father, Trebonianus Gallus, from AD 251 to 253. His reign was during a turbulent period marked by ongoing conflicts and external threats, such as the invasions of the Goths and the Persians. He administered several provinces, including Pisidia.Ā  The obverse, featuring the emperor’s radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust, underscores his divine favor and military authority. The reverse, depicting the vexillum surmounted by an eagle and two standards, conveys the themes of military strength and unity. This coin not only facilitated economic transactions but also served as a tool for communicating the emperor’s legitimacy and the military’s crucial role in maintaining stability during a period of external and internal challenges.
