Note: Psidia, an ancient region in southern Anatolia (modern-day Turkey), was home to the city of Termessos. This coin portrays the head of Zeus facing right, a common motif symbolizing strength and divine power seen on coins from the Hellenistic and Roman periods. On the reverse side, there is the forepart of a horse facing left, likely representing the city’s connection with equestrian culture and Zeus, the primary deity in Greek mythology. The presence of the thunderbolt emphasizes the divine association, as Zeus was often depicted with this attribute, signifying his authority over the heavens. This coin offers insights into the local culture and religious beliefs of Termessos during that era.
