Note:  Roger of Salerno served as regent of Antioch during a turbulent period in the Crusades. His rule saw military conflicts and political challenges, but also efforts to maintain stability and defend the Crusader states. Antioch was one of the major Crusader states in the Levant, strategically located near the Mediterranean coast. It played a crucial role in the Crusades and was governed by various rulers and regents, including Roger of Salerno.  The depiction of St. George slaying the dragon on the obverse reflects the religious fervor of the Crusader states and their belief in divine protection.
