His reign included the provinces of Dacia, Germania, and Mesopotamia, among others. This period was marked by extensive public building projects, military success, and relative internal stability. This coin from Cyrrhus in Syria which in 1st century AD. become a Roman administrative, military, and commercial center on the trade route between Antioch and the Euphrates River crossing at Zeugma and minted its own coinage is minted during Trajan’s reign is a significant historical artifact that reflects the emperor’s achievements and the city’s esteem for his leadership. The obverse, featuring Trajan’s laureate head, underscores his authority and victorious status. The reverse, with its inscription within a laurel wreath, highlights the city’s recognition of Trajan’s rule and their loyalty. This coin not only facilitated economic transactions but also served as a representation of the respect and honor Trajan commanded throughout the empire.
