Note: Hadrian was a Roman emperor who ruled from AD 117 to 138. His rule included the provinces of the entire Roman Empire, stretching from Britain to North Africa and the Middle East. This period was marked by consolidation and fortification of the empire’s borders, significant cultural patronage, and relative internal stability.Ā  The obverse features a laureate head of Hadrian facing right. The laurel wreath signifies victory and divine favor, reinforcing Hadrian’s status as a powerful and victorious ruler.Ā  The reverse shows three standards. Standards were military insignia carried by Roman legions, symbolizing military strength and discipline. This imagery reflects Hadrian’s focus on the military and his efforts to fortify the empire’s boundaries.
