Note: Minted during the reign of Al-Mahdi within the Abbasid Caliphate (775-785 AD), this Dirham offers a glimpse into the economic and administrative prowess of the Abbasid era. Madinat al-Salam (Baghdad), where this Dirham was struck in Year 168, served as the thriving capital of the Abbasid Caliphate and a hub of trade, culture, and learning.
