Note: Maximianus Herculius was a Roman emperor who ruled as co-emperor alongside Diocletian from AD 286 to 305. His reign was part of the Tetrarchy, a system instituted by Diocletian to bring stability to the Roman Empire during the Crisis of the Third Century. Maximianus was tasked with managing the Western provinces while Diocletian governed the East. This period was marked by significant military and administrative reforms aimed at strengthening the empire. The obverse features Maximianus with attributes denoting his imperial and military status, while the reverse emphasizes the harmony between the emperor and his soldiers, as well as divine endorsement from Jupiter. This coin highlights the strategic use of imagery and inscriptions to convey messages of stability, unity, and divine favor during Maximianus’s reign.
