Note:Ā  Aretas IV, along with Shuqailat I, ruled the Nabataean Kingdom, a region located in modern-day southern Jordan, from approximately 9 BC to 40 AD. Aretas IV and Shuqailat I oversaw the flourishing of the Nabataean Kingdom, which controlled key trade routes and amassed wealth through trade in spices, incense, and other valuable commodities. Their reign was characterized by political stability, economic prosperity, and military success, making them notable figures in Nabataean history. The presence of crossed cornucopias on the reverse of a coin typically symbolizes abundance, prosperity, and fertility. In ancient coinage, this imagery often represents the wealth and bounty of the issuing authority or city.
