Note: Demetrios II Nikator ruled the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BC. His reign was marked by struggles against the Parthians in the east and internal conflicts within the empire. The Tyre mint, where this coin was struck, was one of the major mints of the Seleucid Kingdom. Tyre, located on the coast of modern-day Lebanon, was an important center of trade and commerce in the ancient Mediterranean. Its coins were widely circulated throughout the Seleucid Empire and beyond, facilitating trade and commerce within the kingdom.
