Note:  Tancred, a Norman nobleman, served as regent of Antioch during two separate periods. His rule saw both military conflicts and efforts to stabilize the Crusader state. The depiction of St. Peter on the obverse and the cross pattée on the reverse highlight the religious fervor of the Crusaders and their commitment to their Christian faith.
