This denarius was minted in AD 112-113, during a period of significant consolidation and celebration of his victories, particularly in Dacia and the East. The imagery and inscriptions on this denarius are rich with meaning. The obverse emphasizes Trajan’s legitimacy and his numerous titles, while the reverse celebrates his successful annexation of Arabia, reinforcing his reputation as a military conqueror and effective ruler. The depiction of Arabia with the camel signifies the exotic nature of the new province and Romeā€™s expanding influence.
