Note: The Muhammadiya City during the Abbasid period was built by Caliph al-Muā€™tasim in the 9th century. It was established near Samarra, which is located in present-day Iraq, approximately 125 kilometers north of Baghdad. Samarra served as the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate during the reigns of al-Mu’tasim and his successors until the capital was moved back to Baghdad.
