Note: Carus ruled as Roman Emperor from AD 282 to 283 and died in 283. His brief reign was marked by military campaigns, particularly against the Persian Empire. Following his death, he was deified by his successor, his son Carinus. The obverse features the radiate head of Carus facing right, signifying his divine status.Ā  The reverse shows a lighted altar.
