Note: Trajan Decius was a Roman Emperor who ruled from AD 249 to 251. His reign was brief but notable for his efforts to restore traditional Roman religious practices and his campaigns against external threats such as the Goths. He is also known for his persecution of Christians. The obverse features a radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Trajan Decius to the right. The radiate crown indicates the coin’s denomination as an Antoninianus, and the military attire (drapery and cuirass) signifies Trajan Decius’s role as a commander and protector of the empire. The reverse shows Uberitas, the personification of abundance and fertility, standing left. She is holding a purse in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left hand. The purse symbolizes wealth and financial prosperity, while the cornucopia represents abundance and nourishment.
